Schedule a consultation, Face to Face, By Telephone or Online

My counselling sessions are usually offered face-to-face, however during Covid-19 and for those clients preferring not to visit my practice, I also offer counselling via phone or online.

Welcome

Having someone to talk to at various points in our life can be extremely helpful in dealing with a range of issues. It can be beneficial to speak with someone such as a Counsellor who is non-judgemental, genuine and can offer unconditional positive regard.

The counselling relationship is not like any other relationship that you may have experienced before and requires you, the client, to take a leap of faith and trust in someone you have not met before. As a qualified counsellor I can provide a professional, safe, and confidential space to listen and offer empathy.

Therapy can be a wonderful tool to help an individual lead a more fulfilling life and can also be helpful for those experiencing issues such as stressful careers or relationship issues.

About Me

I have spent my whole career working in the health, fitness, and wellness sector. I now focus on mental health and wellbeing and take enormous pleasure in supporting clients to improve their understanding of themselves, leading towards a more fulfilled life.

I am a locally qualified counsellor and have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am also a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work in accordance with their Ethical framework.

I am fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity. I have a regularly checked DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service). I receive regular private supervision to support my work and update my professional status through Continuing Professional Development.

I have been working with clients for a considerable time and have supported them through a range of issues. I also volunteer for a local charity supporting clients who have experienced sexual violence, domestic abuse, childhood abuse and trauma. I feel very privileged in working with clients who feel safe enough to share their thoughts, feelings, and emotions with me as we work together to improve their mental health.

Humanistic Integrative Counselling

The type of counselling I offer ‘Humanistic Integrative Counselling’ allows me to incorporate a range of theoretical approaches to support my client work and these include: Person- centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. All these approaches put the client at the centre of the work. Within my practice I also combine this with a Compassed-Focused style which is particularly beneficial when working with clients who have experienced trauma.

Fees

I offer a free initial 15-minute telephone consultation to allow you to determine whether I am the right counsellor for you. If you agree, we will then find a suitable date and time for our first full session which will include an assessment. I will then create an initial treatment plan with the number of recommended sessions which will last 50 minutes. The fee for each session is £40.00 (I offer a discount for students, the unemployed and senior citizens). It is recommended each session is scheduled for the same day/time, wherever possible, to provide a continuity of service.

Testimonials

My experience with Lori has been extremely valuable over the past six months. I was completely new to the experience and was put at ease throughout. Lori is a credit to her profession

M - 30's

The service and communication between Lori and I made it easy to address and identify some of the underlying issues and concerns, along with being able to manage the existing issues in a positive manner. The best thing was feeling at ease and being comfortable enough to open up so quickly and discuss things that had previously been hidden away

M - 40's

I’ve never had counselling before so did not know what to expect but I came to look forward to our sessions. Lori helped bring me through a very difficult time, so I think that would class as achieving my goals’
